OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC ACHEVEMENT

Rev. John B. Sumo, a senior student of A.T. Still University in Missouri, USA, has been recognized for his outstanding academic achievement. He is among 22 students from the University who joined thousands of students through the United States who received the 2010 “Who’s Who Among students in American Colleges and Universities AWARD.“ Their selection was based on outstanding academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities, and potential for continued success.
Rev. Sumo, a resident of Minnesota, is pursuing a Master’s of Public Health (MPH) degree in health planning, policy, and community health promotion. In May of this year, Rev. Sumo and his school mates will be formally honored at the 2010 Senior Awards banquet on the University’s campus in Missouri.
Rev. Sumo is grateful to God for the award, his pastor and church members, and his family for the honor.
He is anticipating returning to Liberia to contribute his quota to the country’s Poverty Reduction Strategy. He is a former Broadcast Journalist and Banker in Liberia. Presently, he is a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He sees health promotion at the community level as the most effective tool in health promotion strategies.
A.T. Still University is the world’s oldest school of osteopathic medicine which deals with the wellness of the whole beings of humans. Presently, A.T. Still University has a total enrollment of about two thousand students.
