Beyond Intractability, a dictionary on the Internet, defines power as “the capacity to bring about change. It takes many forms, comes from many places, and is measured in many ways. Understanding all the varieties of power is essential if one is to understand who has it, who doesn't, and how those who don't have it can get it.”

On Saturday, December 19, the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota, OLM, held its installation program during which power was transferred to a new administration –the Board of Directors.

The colorful ceremony took place at the Grand Rios Hotel in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Liberians and guests from all walks of life attended.

The Installing Officer was the Rev. Dr. Josef Howard, Executive Director of the Liberian Ministers Association in Minnesota. Dr. Howard charged the Chair and Members of the Board of Directors to execute their assignment with honesty and diligence.

In his farewell address, the former OLM President, Hon. Kerper Dwanyen, expressed thanks and appreciation to his staff, various committee members, his family and scores of other prominent personalities in the Twin Cities.

Hon. Dwanyen presented certificates and plaques to many individuals in the community, including William Lubov, the Chief Executive Officer of the Liberian Media & Advertising Services, Mr. Robert Sayon Morris, Rev. Dr. Francis Tarbla, Rev. Alexander Collins,
Michele Garnett-McKenzie, John Keller and Sevelle Sherriff.

Also receiving certificates are the Brooklyn Center Police Chief, H. Kwaku Addy, Tony Mwah, Patrick Kugmeh, Harry Papa Mason, among others.

Hon. Dwanyen also presented a large bouquet of flowers to his wife, Re Dwanyen.
