EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Organization of Liberians in Minnesota

POSITION INFORMATION: The Organization of Liberians in Minnesota is seeking candidates for the position of Executive Director. He / She will be the Chief Executive Officer of OLM who will be responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. He / She will also be responsible for providing strategic directions for all the various functions mentioned below in an integrated manner as well as defining, developing, and implementing the components of the organization’s strategic plan.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Provide directions and leadership toward the achievement of OLM’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
• Expand and elevate the organization’s outreach and visibility nation-wide by engaging all Liberian Community organizations and funding sources to invest in the OLM’s development and enhancement.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan consistent with the By-Laws and Constitution of the OLM and all laws governing 501(C) 3 organizations.
• Provide leadership in developing and implementing programs, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors and staff.
• Ensure the maintenance of all official records and documents, and further ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensure the publication of OLM activities.
• Develop and manage the human resources of OLM according to authorized personnel policies and procedures governing 501(C) 3 organizations.
• Ensure the raising of funds in collaboration with the Board of Directors of OLM.
REQUIREMENTS:
Core Qualifications:
• The ideal candidate will be a visionary and action leader in managing a mid to large size non-profit organization.
• An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Liberian social, political, professional, religious, and economic landscapes in the Diaspora will be essential.
• Exceptional public engagement competencies, superb oral and written communication skills required.
• Understanding of policy issues related to service delivery of immigration and refugees in building partnership with other providers of such services.
• Strong organizational advocacy and time management abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to establish and meet deadlines to achieve optimum results.
• Knowledge of current environment and demonstrated ability to write and acquire grant.
• Computer experience with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, Outlook)
EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Social Work or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five (3-5) years of demonstrated leadership experience administering a non-profit organization. Proven skills in grant writing and acquisition required.
